Safeguarding Policy

Get In Line is committed to promoting the welfare of children and adults who may be at risk while attending our events.

Responsibilities

Parents, guardians and responsible adults remain responsible for supervising children unless an event expressly states that supervised childcare or instruction is being provided.

Expected practice

Staff, instructors and volunteers should maintain appropriate boundaries, avoid being unnecessarily alone with a child or adult at risk, respond appropriately to concerns and report disclosures or suspected harm promptly.

Reporting a concern

Immediate danger should be reported to the emergency services. Other concerns should be raised with the event organiser or sent to contact@getinline.dance.

Responding to concerns

We will record and consider concerns, preserve confidentiality as far as reasonably possible and refer matters to the police, local authority safeguarding services or other appropriate bodies where necessary.

Scope

This policy is a practical statement for Get In Line events and does not replace the safeguarding procedures of a venue, instructor, employer or statutory authority.
